I am going to do a reformat and start up new with everything since I just got a bunch of new hardware, and I was wondering if someone could give me a list of all the drivers I should have beforehand.

System:
A8N-SLI Deluxe (BIOS 1.02? the one it came with...)
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Newcastle)
NEW- BFG 7800GTX OC
NEW- 1x2gb OCQ Platinum PC3200
NEW- Samsung SyncMaster 997df 19" CRT
NEW- Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro sound card
300gb Maxtor SATA hdd
NEC ND-5320A DVD/CD
Rosewill DVD/CD
NEW- Logitech MX518
Keyboard - Some really old Compaq one that works well
Speakers - Altec Lansing AVS500 4.1
I also might pick up a floppy drive, so I can flash my BIOS if need be.

That's about it I think. I don't want to use ANY CD drivers, because I always have really bad luck with those. Also, on the fresh install, I am going to be using a slipstreamed WinXP Pro SP2 cd (hopefully with service packs included).

I also have the following programs ready for the reformat:
AntiVir
Kerio
Prime95
Sandra
MemTest
CPU-Z
nLite
AdAware
Spybot
Firefox
Regcleaner
Driver Cleaner
3DMark05
Everest
Hijackthis

Does that look about right?

Thanks for any input,
Aip

- NForce mobo drivers (first ones you should install before anything else)
- NVidia Video Drivers
- Sound card drivers

That's all the drivers you should need,

And by nForce mobo drivers I ONLY need to use the 6.66 driver, right? All of the required stuff is in there? I don't have to get seperate ethernet drivers or IDE drivers or anything like that?

I'd suggest you start with the included driver disks.

#1 I don't think the updated drivers off the nVidia page will have DX9 included. But the driver disks will.

#2 Some mobo's need to get some drivers from the mobo maker's site, instead of the nVidia site. I'm too lazy to check for you. But you can do it yourself. Just go visit both sites and check.

Some mobos are a bit touchy about drivers. I would either install the ones on the mobo CD or download the latest ones from the mobo manufacturer's website and avoid the generic nForce drivers for now.

Unless you have dual NICs, all the onboard device drivers will be in the nForce driver package.
