Drivers makes me confused!

Hi!

What is the difference between Nvidia-drivers version 6.XX, 7.XX, 10.XX, 11.XX, 12.XX?

Is 6.XX made for "all" OS's and the one you always should start testing with?
Is 7.XX made for a special OS or?

Is there a table somewhere that explains this?

6.xx = DX7 drivers.
7.xx = DX8 drivers.
1xxx = DX8 drivers and full support for the GF3.
