Have not been able to get PC to connect to lan or email. An older MoBo and driver disk for this MB was used to download device drivers. This is a fresh installation of XP3 which started & booted up properly. Have a similar OS installed on similar MB that is working satisfactorily. Question is it possible to put the drivers of this working unit on a USB stick and install on the fresh PC?

If so, what would I need to know & how to go about copying them. The step by step process, if you will? Downloaded drivers for this mobo from site but that has not been successful. It was suggested that I copy the drivers from a similar working unit. Hope this helps and thank you for taking the time to help with this matter. SM - USAF 62-66

Doubt it. If they are running the same chipset and/or LAN chip maybe. Other than that, we would need to know the motherboard models to tell you for sure.

Better yet, Google the model model number from the computer that does have Internet access, and get the driver off a download page for that model. Transfer via flash drive.

Even better would be to install a newer OS which is covered by some type of support. It will probably come with the drivers you are looking for already installed.

Very well than .... both mobo are the ECS geforce 6100 one has a AMD Sempron (tm) that's the one that needs to get setup. Other working one has a AMD Athlon (tm 7750 dual core). Just a thought since nothing seems to click.

Just curious I went to the hardware device on the one that was working to see what I could find out. The network adapter is listed as a nForce 10/100ethernet and working. So what do I know? I decided to see if an update was available an install it. Sure enough there was and I installed & upgraded. Poor decision as I could no longer connect to the internet, no server found, so I reinstalled the previous download and it returned to normal. There's a screen on dysfunctional PC stating it cannot find the proper NIC. Hope this may help. Thank you for taking the time to help get this sorted out. Just another thought ... if I knew where to find and copy that file I would give it a try. AS I haven't the foggiest ....SM 62-66

UPDATE ... Just wanted to inform & thank those for assisting with this matter. Not sure what contributed to the solution. Since this was a fresh build.. WHEN back and to the jumper pins in CMOS and reverse them for about half-hour. Then went to the 32 bit download site that was suggested, since these are all file folders and not zip files may have helped. Use the USB strip to gather drivers nVidia for mobo. Booted up and open the file folders and ... Eureka ... everything downloaded an installed to system. All hardware drivers listed were installed. Including The Network adapter nForce 10/100 ethernet. Internet is now connected, all I need to do now is to get some issues with my email account straightened out. Thank the Group for taking the time to make this Desktop PC Great Again. Couldn't have done it without Our Group's determination. SM
