Is there any generic CD-RW drivers out there? I have a HP 513x pc, and I removed Win XP home and put win2k on it. My adaptec easy cd creater 5 platinum says failed to initialize engine and then says failed to find a cdrw drive when I try and burn a cd.

search google for the adaptec aspi drivers for win2k. that's what you need. actually i think adaptec made them free, so just get them from their website.

you can also get that sort of error if you pc is infected with a virus.
