hi.sorry x my english.
on www.wiahardware.com there are the via 4in1 4.29b driver. it says that they risolve the problem on ide hdd on win2k. if you know the previuos 4in1 make a driver ide as a scsi driver and the cd-r won't run. if someone can try the new one can say me if there really work? thanks.

uninstall it. 4.26 -4.29 the ide driver messes up cd writers. just use the microsoft drivers and you'll be fine. to uninstall just run the setup program and select the option to uninstall the ide driver.

4.28 never caused my burner to misbehave. And it fixed an annoying DirectCD issue with my win2k system.

Experienced a similar problem, I think.... Installed the 4in1via drivers last week....not sure what build... But now my floppy won't work, and my regular 40X cd-rom is not working correctly either... My CD-RW works fine though... Am going to uninstall, or make sure I have latest drivers and see if it makes a difference...Will update...
