driver update for nvidia cards running HL2

ok, there have probably been thousands of threads identical to this one, but please explain to me.

do i need to revert to an older nvidia driver in order to run Half Life 2, or can I stick with the current one? thanks.

can't you just run it and see for yourself? i'm running the latest drivers off of nvidia.com and it works just fine

hows the one your using now working for you? are you having any problems?

using the latest one, i get an error message, and the game quits to desktop. this is before i get to the main menu
