im still running the drivers that came out with gta5 when i got my 970

i guess i want the newest drivers so should I just upgrade or uninstall/reinstall the newest ones?

i have a bunch of settings saved in control panel for various games dont wanna lose those

Some wipe some don't. Try it and see how it works out. I'm a wiper as I'll usually only swap drivers when the current ones mysteriously loose the ability to downclock my 970 at idle. No crash, no game freeze, no crazy overclocks. Upgraded to Win 10 and the trend followed. DDU wipe and reinstall fixed the issue. Decided to do 100% fresh install but haven't reinstalled my games yet.

I always use to wipe drivers clean, driver cleaner, then re-install. Now, I just update. Choose only the driver and PhysX, unless you want the GeForce experience and Hi def Audio, and make sure your you check the Clean Install.

I'd suggest you wait till a driver comes out that gives you some performance gains in a particular game your playing or has an SLi profile you need if applicable...

prefer clean reinstall as well. uncheck whatever components you may not need (e.g. in my case 3d vision)
