Driver to solve no "Processor Support" in device manager?

The reason I was asking about reinstalling windows is that my machine has become really unstable and I think it is linked to the exclaimation mark beside "Processor support" in the device manager. I've tried updating the driver, but wherever windows looks, or wherever I point it (including the via 4-in-1 disk), it fails to come up with anything.

Would I not have to worry about this if I reinstalled windows? It might me nicer just to plug in a driver for that little bit and see if that fixes my incredibly unstable rig. (which has frozen twice while typing this message) How do I do that?

Thanks, (especially to those who were working on this with me before.

(I'm using win98 at the moment because my machine is too unstable to take the se installation very far. (but it was unstable before I tried that too))

i dont know if this is the case but....

some motherboards like my cusl2-c have to have a patch(on motherdoard driver disk) to see the intel stuff .

this is true for many of the motherboards example p-3bf,and cusl2-c,and my old cuv4x all needed this patch or it wont recognize things such as agp controller or primary or secondary ide controllers
and you wont know as windows will usually load a driver for these that is generic and unstable.

my p-3bf would lock up playing any games if this driver patch wasnt installed before the other drivers also make sure they gave you the right mobo drivers as my friend had same problem untill we got the right drivers as they packed a different driver set with his than what he had

hpoe this helps
