Here are my specs:

Asus A8N-E mobo
Radeon X800 XL 256 mb video card
Athlon 64 3200+
1 GB ram

OK, first of all, I guess I need to update my mobo's bios and drivers. I'm having some issues with the audio in GTA: San Andreas, and I think it may have to do with the audio drivers for my onboard sound (I don't have an extra sound card).

Also, I need to update my X800's drivers to the Catalyst 5.6 drivers. The only problem is, when I install the drivers, GTA: SA refuses to work. It comes up with an error message saying "Video Mode Not Supported". Is this just some setting I have to change, or is it a problem with the drivers?

So could someone help me out with which drivers/updates to get, where to get them from, and how to install them?

Thanks for any help. :)

The game must support only certain combos of resolutions and refresh rates - perhaps when you changed the drivers, the res and ref.rate got changed to something incompatible with the game.
. Then there is always the possiblity that the new drivers "broke" the game - video driver updates are notorious for that. IOW, when it comes to video drivers, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

So you think I should just leave it alone and revert the driver back to the original? Because I think the new drivers may give Battlefield 2 better performance...

No - do the first thing I said and if that doesn't work and checking the ATI site/other gamer forums, etc. for info on problems re. your game and the new drivers. If nothing can be found to fix it, then revert to old version.
. Personally I think it's good you can't play GTA - very dangerous thing for those of weak mind and/or character (which the government adolescent detention facilities (aka the public school systems) seem dead set on producing an abundance of).
