aight just got my new asus 1900xt. keep in mind this is on a fresh install of windows xp. i have not installed any other video drivers or cards except this one. this is the error that i get when installing ati drivers

INF error
video driver not found.

try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup.

wtf is going on? never had this error before especially with new install of windows

I had that issue as well, and it was solved by installing the driver from the cd itself. The error must be due to the software checking for a successful install of the video card - in your hardware properties you should see a yellow question mark or whatever indicating that windows is using some generic driver for your display.

Edit: I had this issue arise on a fresh xp install, trying to use the most recent driver available on the ati site - the driver on the cd should work.

Are you installing the drivers that came on the CD? Last I heard, the official 6.1 drivers from the Ati website dont support the x1900's.

You have to use the 5.12's or else wait for the 6.2's (I think).

Apparently the Omega drivers will let you do it tho. :)

The versions on my install cd are 6.14.10.xxxx, so I guess that's 6.1?
