Driver problem ASUS V6600 - 16/32 bit color in Win98

I have had the ASUS Geforce V6600 for almost a year now, working just fine until I updated my drivers to ASUS version 5.33b. Now I can't show my desktop in WIN98 in more than 256 colors - goes black in 16/32 bit color mode. There is no problem in playing games in 16/32 bit. The problem still occurs even though I install a older driver version?

Maybe it didnt redetect your monitor INF properly..check to be sure it isnt just using default monitor... and go into safe mode and make sure it doesnt list 2 or 3 monitors or video adaptors in device manager..if so delete them all and reboot so windows will detect only one of each.
