I am running 12.9 drivers and I noticed there is a little flicker inside game cutscenes. Not a lot, just like a small flicker here and there across the monitor. First noticed it in Borderlands and Alan wake. Not sure if this is the driver or my new card?

Have you tried putting the fan to 100 percent and then gaming ?

When you say flicker what exactly you mean. Are you saying artifacts or what ? Im a little unclear. I mean what exactly is a flicker in the video card gaming world ? Well help better once we get a idea what your talking about. Were here for you, and I would bet its the drivers and not the card.

Do you know when this flicker wasn't happening ???

If so go to those drivers and downgrade drivers.

That is ATI for you if its the driver,,,, not a surprise.

Well I've had the card 3 days and by flicker I mean its weird its like a subtle small line of flash in game videos. Does not happen in YouTube or other videos. Maybe its like a small change in lighting in the form of a line. Not major and doesn't happen extremely but its noticeable. No artifacts.

Will have to put back the 12.8 drivers and see.

Don't make it sound like NV users don't have to downgrade drivers at times because of issues.

Well the 12.9 are beta anyway and on my last nvidia card I noticed this too sometimes. Looks more like a cutscene render issue. What I can describe is like one of those scanning lines. But not that bad just very very faint.

I looked up some things online and it seems like its screen tearing although I am not sure. Someone put a pic here in this thread.

But mine is not like this, I mean not this bad as it is in that picture posted. Will I have to RMA the card? I hope not I just got it after being without a card for months on end.

I noticed quite a bit of graphical glitches with the 12.8s and 12.9s, I get some nice flicker on Splinter cell conviction with my Sapphire 7750. I would not worry about it and go back to defaults if you are overclocking to ensure your card is in perfect working order. :)

use a program and cap your framerate below your monitor's refresh rate that should fix it

Actually when I had my overclock on at 1170/1580 there was less of it showing up sometimes. It's not something really bad just kind of annoying.

I'll look in CCC and see if I can set to use vsync. CCC says my monitor refresh rate is 75hz. I usually set all settings maxed and go from there in my games. I don't feel like getting a whole new monitor right now.

Ever Since I powned a x800 from 2004 to 2007. I went through ADH ATI driver hell. CCC errors or suddenly my games are in slomo.

But the changes nothing to the fact that you don't apply your personal experience generally because mine has been nothing like yours.

So what would you say to AMD users who made the exact opposite comment of having nothing but trouble with NV cards and every little issues with ATI/AMD.

No individuals experience is the De facto.

Forums are full of users of both brand having issues and i just don't get how someone can ignore that or there must be some filter on there browsers blocking issues showing for the NV brand.

I was surprised to see that on newegg reviews some people got this card to overclock to 1200 on the core. I wonder if they were doing that with the boost button on.
