Driver Issue x800xl

I have an x800xl and whenever I restart my computer it always starts in 800x600 resolution. if I go into Display Properties to try and change it. I can pick any other setting. click apply. and it goes right back to 800x600. I tried changing it in ATI tools and ATI Catalyst. None work. The only solution I can find is reinstalling the drivers.

I rarely turnoff / restart my computer so it's not a HUGE issue but I would like to fix it. I've tried different catalyst versions, same results. I haven't tried Omega yet.

Any ideas?
