Driver issue: Usb keyboard keeps wigging out

I have a tiny little USB wireless keyboard. Windows XP pro sees it just fine. Windows XP media center on the other hand flips out. it will use the right drivers, then while im in the middle of using the device, it will switch drivers, and stop working. Apparently the better drivers windows finds decided my life will be better if it disables the device. Is there a solution to this? can i FORCE windows to STOP doing this?
