This is how I did it with my XP+SP2 slipstream disc few days back, install XP no SATA driver needed for clean install with nforce 4(only SATA drive on my system),install chipset nfroce 4 drivers after OS,then I installed forceware drivers after reboot, then sound card drivers, then installed AV software and made sure firewall was on then connected to the net for XP updates(make sure AV is updated too).

I did not bother with Nvidia SW IDE driver or cool and quiet software(I made sure C& Q is disabled in BIOS too).

I did install the AMD X2 driver( it fixed the dual core gaming problem with stutter for me with some games that only support one core CPUs), that saves me setting CPU0 to affinity in process,if you use dual core cpu.

My install went very smooth .

theres a reason motherboard manufacturers put dx9 on thier cd's,..heres my order

dx9.0c
latest nforce4 AMD(all but audio)
full windows update
(i dont use the cnq driver but this is where it would go imo,..unless for a workaround type reason that it should be elsewhere)
logitech mx518 driver
latest forceware
latest x-fi
...on to applications

If you got an older XP CD with SP1 or no service pack, you can download SP2 and make a new WInXP disc that will intergrate SP2 into the WinXP CD so basically it is the same as a new WinXP CD that has SP2 on it already.

I used AutoStreamer ,info on how to do it,clickhere .

No problems,I used my WinXP/SP2 slipstreamed CD I made year back for my new SATA HD and PC parts 3 days ago, working great.

It even installed fine with my new SATA HD with no floppy SATA driver while installing.
