I had to re-install Windows XP, and now... when I try to re install the driver it says it is not compatible, etc and I am doing it straight from the AMD website!!

What gives?

Thanks for the helps.

It just tries to install it then comes up with the "can't find this hardware" or something like that.
It is the ONLY driver for 9200 on the website...

Let me know if that makes sense.

Appreciate it!! ...

I am also getting a message when the computer starts that says something like it can't find the driver and it has to close the ATI Control Panel, etc?

Download it again? Maybe the installer package wasn't unpacked correctly.

I had the same issue with a Radeon 7500 waaay back in the day. Exactly the same error message.

For some reason, installing the latest version of DirectX before installing the driver solved the problem. So try it out!

try installing ONLY the driver and not the whole CCC package... anand recently found that the CCC package has massive slowdowns in some games (from 1% slower, to half speed, depending on the game)

https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/67...k_dd_ccc_wdm_38185.exe << That's the 6.11 version which is the last version of the CCC which supports the Radeon 9200 series on Windows XP 32-Bits, it should work.

Press F8 a couple times just after POST to invoke the Boot Menu Options. Select "Use VGA Mode" (640x480) and then try again.

**UPDATE**
Thank you to all of you that tried to help...

Here is where I am with all of the different tips:

1) I completed the Windows updates.
2) I did install DirectX...
3) The link from evolucion8 is only going to a generic download page that takes me to the same non-working package.
4) And lastly, I did the F8 while booting and did "Enable VGA mode" and it still made no difference.

Why is this not working??
One other thing I noticed is when I start the computer the frist thing that happens is a box comes up telling me that the "ATI Control Panel closed" or something.. if this means anything...

If someone can get me the solution to this I will owe you my first born!! THANKS

Try to unistall your videocard drivers and then use an utility called Driver Sweeper which can be downloaded here http://downloads.guru3d.com/Dr...0.0-download-2186.html . The ATi driver that I posted don't have the classic control panel, it uses the Catalyst Control Center which needs the latest .Net framework to work properly. This is the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 Redistributable http://download.microsoft.com/...9a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe

Once you are done with all make sure to reboot and then install that driver that I posted, I couldn't find an older version, may be you can findo it on the manufacturer's website. If once you install the driver and reboot and you still having issues with it, just get a newer card, they're cheap as cereals.
