Hey all,

I am trying to hook up my computer display to the TV. I have a Geforce4 Ti4200 128 mb with an svideo tv out. I also have an svideo to coaxial converter so that I can connect it to my tv.

Well I have tried unsuccessfully so far to get the TV to work as a display. I have the latest nvidia driver for my card. I think the problem might be my converter cable, but I would like to rule out the possibility of a bad driver first.

The nvidia site says to make the tv out work just unplug the monitor cable so that only the S video is connected and the computer should automatically detect this once you restart and send the signal to the tv. Well its not working for me.

I am wondering if there is a driver out there which would make it easier to switch to the tv out display? I think the resolution should have something to do with it not showing up on my tv so is there a driver which would take my resolution down to the normal tv res? The current driver goes as low as 640 by 480 but no lower. Thanks in advance.

As they say without a monitor plugged in it should detect the tv, can you hook up your monitor next to your tv? at least then you could check that the tv out works by cloning the desktop.

Are you getting the Bios screen when you first power up but nothing when Windows loads? If you are it's a driver problem, the last drivers I've successfully used for TV out were the 32.20's. If you aren't getting any display at all something else is likely the culprit. As for TV resolutions, 640x480, 800x600, and (maybe) 1024x768 should work.
