What the heck is a 7900GX²?

Oh, N/M. I didn't realize the dual cards were called GX2's.

Use the latest from nvidia is best I can tell you. Use driver cleaner of course.

try using drivers supplied with card if that helps.

from which card did you upgrade, please tell the difference in performance.

Xbit used the 87.24's in their tests. They did have a few problems, but they had it working.

I got the bulk version, so no drivers no extras. just the card.
tried the 84.24 but installation process aborted, dunno why.
with the 87.25 it shows only 512MB instead 1024Mb GPU memory working, plus AF is only at 16x instead of 32x.
SO far i cant tell much bout performance since i dont get the card run perfectly.

I didn't know it did 32x AF? I thought it could do 32xAA? It might be simply because you haven't got a driver really going for it yet. It won't enable that feature until you get the right driver to do so.

These ones seem to be the ones that were sent to the reviewers of the 7900GX2 so they should work.

Be sure you use uninstall the drivers through windows control panel, reboot into safe mode, uninstall any other display drivers through driver cleaner pro in safe mode, and restart and install the new ones.

Try the new FW 91.28 betas.

How do you have a 7900GX2? Lucky you...
but i would have waited for the 7950GX2 :p

You cant have 32xAF. He probably meant 32xAA.

Isn't it only supposed to show 512mb?? It's 512mb per GPU correct and they run in SLI mode right like they would if you had 2 separate cards right?? When you have 2 separate cards in SLI mode then you don't get 1024mb either...it's just 512mb. I'm not sure about this though. Chime in if I'm wrong of course.

Yes, so does the 7950GX2, although i think they designed it differently to the 7900GX2.

You are correct. The memory is still 512Mb per GPU and it does not combine for a total of 1 Gb when in a scalable link. Each GPU still has 512 Mb to work with on its processes. It cannot borrow memory from another card. However, since each GPU is only doing half of the work, the memory for the designated GPU will also be doing half of its normal processing. That's why SLI gives people such performance gains, in some games. The work load is split in half over the GPU and the memory of both cards.
