Driver causing PC to hang at start-up

Guys, I just put together a new rig. The video card is MSI N450GTS-M2D1G5/OC. I downloaded the driver for Win7 64-bit from msi.com. It makes my PC freeze at the boot-up screen for anywhere from 10 seconds to 30 seconds before showing me the Windows login screen. When I uninstall the driver, the PC displays the boot-up screen for 1-2 seconds.

What are my options at this point? Return the card?

thank you thank you thank you 🙂

I thought the manufacturer would have the latest drivers....didn't even cross my mind to check on nvidia.com

it looks good now...no system freeze....whew

Awesome! Enjoy your new rig .

Glad you solved it. It's not uncommon for drivers to cause the Windows boot time to increase. It has nothing to do with the card itself, as it is a software problem.
