Well, I am looking at updating the BIOS and Drivers for my Epox 8k7a.

I have heard of the hazards of updating the BIOS if one isn't 100% sure of what they were doing so I thought I would double check with you guys to make sure I have the right stuff.

BIOS-

I get this

http://www.epox.com/html/english/support/motherboard/bios/8k7a.htm

8k7a1711.exe from Epox's website, run the file so it extracts everything. Then format a floppy into a bootable disc and then copy the files it extracts onto the floppy and then re-boot and follow the instructions. Is that right?

And as for Drivers

http://www.epox.com/html/english/support/motherboard/drivers/download_ep-8k7a.htm

Since I am running Windows 2000, I don't grab one for the AMD761 chipset driver, but just down the latest versions of the bottom two and run them while in windows 2000?

Thanks for the help.

tcc2f6:

Install your Win2K operating system first then install the EPoX drivers as described HERE.

Do all of the Win2K updates (SP2, IE5.5, Security Updates, etc...) at Microsofts update site.

Flash in the new bios.
