DriveImageXML for backups?

So the free program that comes with Seagate drives (disc wizard) doesn't work on my system for some reason and the 15 day trial version of Acronis gives me the same error.

I see Drive Image XML is free and does backup and restore.

How is this program as far as backing up and restoring? Anybody hear good or bad?
 
Ive used it a few times without problem, images arent as small as GHost/Acronis, but I only uzsed it to provide a customer a restore DVD (BartPE with the PC image on it)
