I have a 500 gb western digital hd that I can see in my mb bios but not in win7 64. I tried disk management but can't see it in there either. I see my other 3 hd's just fine. Any suggestions?

Yes, the drive was formatted with info on it already. Another thing I noticed was the bios has it available for a boot choice but it shows the drive as not detected in another part of the bios. Could it be a motherboard issue?

Kinda odd for it detect in one portion of the BIOS and not the other. You could always try another port/cable or an external enclosure but if none of those work it is more than likely the drive since you said yourself it can pick up 3 other drives. I suppose there is the possibility of a compatibility issue so trying it on another machine via internal or external means might help narrow it down as well. Good luck.

Does your board have more than one disc controller? I know many Gigabyte boards have a Gigabyte RAID controller that drives 2-4 SATA ports. Check the settings. Possibly connected as a RAID or AHCI drive, but you didn't give the drivers to Windows 7? If so, the easiest thing to do would be to set that controller to IDE mode.

Well I tried so many solutions I don't know which one worked. My best guess is this one: I noticed in device manager that "Accusys" storage controller would not start. After using a search engine I found a solution that said uninstall the device as well as the software and don't reboot. Then reinstall the 3.0 usb driver. Problem went away but strangely windows update says "Accusys Inc. - Storage - ACS-6xxxx" is available for download. When I install it from update the problem comes back. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
