Drive Letters

Hi All,
I use USB flash drives for backups. However every time I insert a new flash drive into the usb socket the drive letter changes. Is there a way to have the same drive letter assigned to the usb socket iam using so that it doesn't change every time I use it?

Seems like you have more than one USB drive and are therefore assigned a different drive letter depending on the combination of drives attached at a given time.

To fix this, follow instructions on this page. Connect all detachable drives to your PC and then assign them a letter, preferably beginning from a letter that is rarely used, say N.

Warning: Do not change the drive letter(s) for the drive on which you have the Operating system installed (assuming it lets you do this) or boot drives, should you have any.
