Drive larger than 2 TB, making sure I have this right

So I am running a bit low on space in my file server. It's old, but it works (with a lot more RAM):

Right now, it is running Server 2003 and 2 SATA hard drives.

I am thinking about putting a biggie in there, maybe a 3 TB. So here is what I have to make this work:

This card (or one very-much like it):

Windows Server 2008 or Vista (not sure if I still have my license for 2008).

So my question is simple, will this work?

I think it will, I am just concerned about the Compaq being so old, there could be something I'm missing.

Thank you BikeDude. Now that you linked it, I think I do remember reading that.

Question: Does partitioning make any difference here, or is this a hard limit on the disk itself?

I dont think he will be able to see more then 2TB if its a 32bit OS.

I maybe wrong tho...

Also as Bike said, as long as ur not booting from it also.
You can set the partition to GPT and then use the drive as storage.
However as a boot drive.... u wont get it to work.

OK, think I got it, thanks guys. Now I just have to decide if I want to get a single 2 TB drive, or add a 3 TB along with one of the others.
