The 1999 Acura Integra coupe was the most-stolen vehicle last year and Integras from other model years weren't far behind, likely the targets of street racers who want their fast engines, according to a report released Tuesday.

Top 25 steals

1. 1999 Acura Integra

2. 2002 BMW M Roadster

3. 1998 Acura Integra

4. 1991 GMC V2500

Whatever happened to mid 80's Olds Cutlasses being in 4 of the top 10 spots? Did they run out of them?

No clue. But what's up with these two?

12. 1989 Chevrolet R25

13. 1993 Cadillac Fleetwood

What IS an R25? Is that a platform for an old Suburban/Tahoe?

Given that they have a "V2500", it could be a "C/K2500". I don't remember if in '89 GM went back to the 4 digit numbers or still had 2 digits. So the R25 could be the full size truck platform.

Yeah that sucks. But at least mine is garaged at home and at work, plus I do have an alarm installed which might deter some of the little punks.

I drive an integra, but living in vermont sort of cancels that out. The crime rate here is pretty damn low, you rarely hear about stolen cars.

I can't get anyone to steal my POS 98 Blazer. I even put ALPINE window decals on it and the passenger side door lock doesn't work.

I hate that POS!

maybe acura should stop making good engines :p

They need to start, first. Other than the NSX they have nothing exciting. They do have plenty of ricer fanboys, though. That's why I go to the track I'm bored out of my mind. I want to see fast cars, not slow econoboxes. I drive there in a 12/13 second car, which I don't consider to be especially fast (and I wouldn't pay to watch), and I have to look at Hondas all night clogging up the racetrack running 15's.

yeah I remember seeing Civics, Accords, and Camrys up at the top every year. I guess that generation is too old now.

Look at the Honda crowd and the type of people it attracts. I don't mean people who just drive a stock Civic, I mean the people who have the hiant fart can exhaust and cheap wheels on them. A bunch of thugs. It's no wonder that thugs who own a certain type of car will bring that thug mentality (and the crime that goes with it) into the scene.

you have a 0.5% chance of getting your car stolen! that'd make a great ad campaign for Acura!

Yeah, I've only heard of one guy having his car stolen here in my whole life.

It was his wife's toyota collora...he filed a police report on it, and like a week later he's out driving and he sees his stolen car being driven. (He recognized it as his some how, probably the plate or something.) So, he starts tailing the car (this is around greater burlington area, so you know the closest thing we have to real city traffic around here)

Anyway, he ends up right behind it stopped at a red light. There's a cop at the gas station on the side of the street. He knows if he goes to get the cop, the light will turn and he'll lose the car. So before the light turns, he just rams his own stolen car. Of course the cop comes right over. The lady driving it said he boyfriend bought it for her a week ago. :/
