I am going to be short:
IBM 30 gig + Quantum 20gig in Raid 0
after playing arround with open case, after booting to win2k suddenly power falure and...after powering up again I started getting blue screens in the D partition (NTFS win2k)
C: partition worked OK
I unraided the Disks

Now the HPT 370 drive detection detects IBM as it was UDMA 5 (ata 100) and the Quantum as UDMA 2 ?!?! UDMA 2?! I cant change to UDMA 5 cause it isnt there, aint available,
I made and deleted the partition on the quantum 2 times but no effect,
The Drive is EXTREMELY HOT
the IBM disk is ok, working

What is the problem with the QUANTUM?
I scanned it with norton Disk doctor and it reports NO errors but the disk size states:

20 000 000 000 total (not exactly 20gb but u know)
and 6 000 000 000 in hidden FILES ?! Where are they, I have 20gb free???

:(((( HELP ME

The power failure and restart could have definitely caused a voltage spike that damaged the quantum.

Each drive maker usually has a test and diagnostic program (brand specific) that can tell you exactly the condition of the drive. I have IBM's and their program is called IBMFTOOL, and contains PC DOS to make a bootable floppy. It can also repair drive if it is not physically damaged.

I don't know about Quantum. I think they now belong to WDC or someone else. You can check their website to see if they have such a program. Maxtor does, IBM does, and I think WDC does.
