Anyway, I am looking for a cheap, semi-quick way to retrieve data from a corrupt disk that is used in my laptop. The disk cannot be booted too and the NTOSkernel is shot. The volume label can still be seen so I know the data is there. I called some data recovery places but it would run anywhere from $375 to $2K. That would be a last resort. There are some bad sectors on the disk also. I have tried a few things like putting the disk in the freezer, bought an external enclousure to try to use as a slave, and ghost to copy the files. Any help is greatly warranted and needed!
