Drive Becomes GPT Protective Drive On SATA But Works Fine On USB

I purchased 2 WD 3.0 drives maybe 2 months ago... after about 1 month, the drive had some unrecoverable sectors issues so I RMAed the drive....

New drive comes along and I used an old USB to SATA bridge that I recovered from a Seagate USB drive to connect it to the computer to transfer the data. The transfer has been completed but when I put the drive back into computer and use a SATA connection instead of the USB, the drive only shows as a "GPT Protective Partition" and won't mount.

I don't want to re-transfer all the data again so is there any way I can fix this issue without having to format the drive?

I think the problem lies in the Seagate USB to SATA bridge. Anyone have any suggestions? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thanks Cerb for the suggestion. I'll try to mess around with it this week and see what I happens. Thanks again.

Ah, that's too bad. It's doubtful that Seagate will have a firmware update to fix this problem since they don't expect users to use it as a dock.
