I don't have a floppy drive installed and it say's I have an A: drive in both XP and Vista. Both are fresh installs.

Like Magnus says, that's normal. The only floppy drive I have in the same room as my PC is sitting on a desk but windows will still assume A: and B: are floppies if the motherboard okays it.
