If you drive a small pickup (Ranger, S-10, Tacoma etc.) please post your gas mileage, and what engine/trans and drivetrain (4x2 or 4x4) you have.

We are looking at a small trucks for a guy at work, and we want the most bang for the buck gas-mileage wise.

I'm in the market for one, and reports indicate that a Ford Ranger, 4 cylinder, manual, gets 23-27 mpg.

my friend, who drives an older Ranger (88), 4 cyl, 5-speed, 4x2, gets a little over 20 mpg.

FWIW - the new Canyon/Colorado's from GM get about 27MPG on the highway with a stick, 2WD, and the I4. 25MPG with the Auto.

The I5's get about 24MPG with 2WD and an auto tranny. 22 with 4WD.

Pretty good for a "big" compact truck.

I drive a '93 Ford Ranger (4X2, 5 speed manual, 3 liter V6 engine). I tend to get 20-25 mpg (for city driving), depending on whether I have my a/c running or not.

YMMV, my 88 ranger 2.3L 2WD long bed with 121k miles gets around 16,17 MPG in the summer and slightly lower in the winter due to added wieght in the bed
