Drilling holes after paint will wreck case??

Stupid me. I got an blowhole cut on my top panel and painted, but forgot to drill holes for fan screw. Just wondering if i do drill holes with it wreck the painting job.

this might help you out. Tape around the area where u want to drill. Masking tape is ok since the adhesive is not too strong but it will protect the area u are drilling. hope that helps

Careful with masking tape on tender new paint. Use one of these or similar to mark the case before you drill:

From a Google search for "automatic center punch" also easily obtainable at any decent hardware store, probably more like $15, better quality....

Or mount the fan with four blobs of silicone seal, be sure the surfaces are oil-free, let it set overnight..

very weak masking tape should be fine on dried paint. Not strong enough to pull any paint off, but good enough to stay in place to prevent any scratches.
