I'm about to drill a hole in my side window for a fan. And I was wondering should I remove the window from the steel part of the case? or can I just leave it on the side panel of the case? Because I don't want it to crack or anything. Hope I make sense. Thanks.

How is it secured to the case? I'd say to drill it without the case present, simply for easier maneuverability, but I understand how that could be an unappealing option, depending on the securing means. Just be sure there is direct support under the area being drilled, like a section or two of a two-by-four. Use a sharp bit, and go easy on it. If you have some extra window material, practice on that first to work on a technique.

i just put to more fan holes on my side window..... i first taped up the whole window then soaked it with water, marked the holes with a pen then drilled slowly cooling down the bit with water/drilling oil. when i got to the big fan hole my drills battery started dying and i cracked the acrylic because of rushing....hehe but the steel its attached to covers the cracked broken part:)
