Ok, this thread is a tad bit old, but still new enough that I can bump this rather then making a new posts.

Sooo... Any advice on learning how to be fashionable? I'm not looking for advice on buying a particular pant or shirt, but how to be fashionable in general. More like a book of Fashion or clothe ideas. Much like Fuzzy Bunny, I'm a complete fashion newb.

No pics up yet (I'll try and get some) but I'm a 5 foot 11 inch 190 lb Hispanic male.

No matter how hot you get, shorts will never be fashionable in the winter - unless you are a woman and are wearing them with tights and even then it is a bit iffy

er.. this is for places where it is cold... obviously

FBB: you need to give us your height and your weight. Your build.

I'm Asian. I have no problems finding clothes. The only problem according to Capt Caveman is my stupidity with wool slacks because living in CA has taught me there's only a week at most where temps are below 40.

BTW: Overheating is not a problem. You're not the only one. I wear a button shirt to work everyday. In winter I might wear a sweater and coat. The minute I enter the office, I'll take it all off down to the shirt. I have to wear a lab coat so I put that over my shirt and I roll up my sleeves. Otherwise it's too hot. Any lifting and I'll start sweating.

This is no excuse for dressing like crap. I feel like some of my friends have no concept of fashion too. They just slap on a nice cotton sweater that's all wrinkled or oversized. Just because you bought it at Banana doesn't make you automatically preppy.

You're in the Bay Area no? East Bay malls suck. Drive down to SJ and go to Valley Fair or Oakridge and hit up the stores there. you also need to identify your style.

I'm 5'5" and 135lb.

I don't know about my style. I feel silly wearing hip clothes with graphic tees or clothes with XYZ Company Est. 1909 or whateverthefuck because I don't identify with that lifestyle and have no knowledge of it.

I'm outdoorsy.

Just be yourself and quit caring about what people think. And if you really want pussy that bad buy it or move to LA. Plenty of little annoying Chinese girls for you to worship.

I'm a shorter white guy and I have had great luck finding well fitting and constructed clothing at Banana Republic. Too often most manufacturers do not seem to scale down their sizes appropriately, but of all the chain retailers I think Banana does the best. Essentially they are the closest thing to petite for men I have found.

topman is having a half-off sale <3 great deals if you're a S or M (L/XL is like totally sold out)

buy anything from topman or allsaints and you'll probably end up looking fashionable.

something is wrong with bunny's feet.

also, American Eagle and Hollister is the shit that makes you look 12. Grow up and dress like a man.

GO buy a pair of nice designer jeans. You dont have to have multiple pairs, but at least get one.

Seven for all Mankind, True religion, Rock and Republic, and *GASP* Diesel jeans are all great. Trust me on this one, you will get compliments for wearing nice jeans. Women do notice.

If you aren't into labels (which it sounds like you are), go to American Apparel. Their clothing fits GREAT, and it is very comfortable too. Wear a really low cut v-neck & ride a fixed gear bike and you too can become a hipster! But seriously, I love all clothing from american apparel. Their hoodies are the SHIT.

If you dont want to spend a shitload on clothes, at least spend a good amount on a nice pair of jeans. They can go a long way, and last a long time. My diesel jeans look brand new and they are over 2 years old.

I can already feel the future ATOT flames for recommending expensive jeans...

then wear unbranded stuff?

If you're outdoorsy why not go to REI and check out their selection? They have REI branded clothes that look great but don't have a huge REI label on them.

What women? Itrailians? Women notice if the jeans look good on you, which is more a function of your physique and not wearing baggy as shit 15 year old GED jeans.

Fuck it, just get diesel and go to armani exchange and max out your CC. you'll look awesome.

iron ya god damn shirt, son. with parental supervision, of coarse. ya look like a damn 12 year old

He doesn't look that young. Or even that bad. I can't tell if you've pierced your lip, but if you have get rid of that shit asap. People who have pierced anything but ears tend to be classless, and that rule CAN slip over to males with pierced ears as well, but I usually reserve judgment for that.
