There are three threads about Dremel tools, This is the most recent.

Lowe's advertised on the TV that the Two Speed Dremel Tool was on sale for $29.99, down from $39.99 last week. I would have liked to see it at $19.99, like the thread above advertised (Expired? Certain Markets Only), but for $29.99 it seemed like a good deal.

The difference: When you go to Lowe's, the two speed Dremel Kit is model #2850. You might find two configs, one with 30 bits and one with 35 bits, plus the case/toolbox is different. The one with 35 bits has more sanding accessories, the one with 30 has more grinding bits. I chose the sanding version since I plan to use it more for woodworking, but looked long and hard at the other one, since it seemed like you got a few more expensive bits. Anyway, this would make a nice gift, especially to someone grinding off a few fins on their SuperOrb to get it to fit their K7 MOBO. Hope this helps somebody.

Great deal, thanks for posting.

Also, for those interested in the multi-speed version, the multi-pro set is available at ourhouse.com for $89.89 minus 30% using their 10% discount plus the passport 20% promotion. Comes to around $63.00 shipped. Free shipping if you can get you total above $100 before discounts. This kit comes with the flexible attachment, which can be really handy. Not as cheap as the two-speed kit, but you get more flexibility if you plan on doing other projects.

Yep, that's where Dogberry saw it

<< Lowes Hardware have the 2 speed Dremel Kit with 30 peice bit set for $19 again, ad seen in the Seattle-PI, 12/8 >>

Nice deal if you picked it up. Don't know if it was only in the Pacific NW, some suggested trying to get a local manager to call Seattle and PM. Good Luck.

I just checked the website and its listed there for $29, still a great deal. BTW, I had to enter my zip so it may be regional.

I bought one in Ohio for $19.99 a few days ago. They were going for $39.99 at Lowes. I walked up to Customer Service and told the girl there that Washington stores had it for $19.99 and would she price match another Lowes. She called up a manager on the phone and stated what I told her. He just told her over the phone that it was fine. He didn't come to the front or call the store or anything. That was it. I just went throught checkout and told the cashier that it was pricematched at $19.99 no questions asked. Needless to say I'm happy :) .

I don't want to push my luck, but I sure would like to go back and buy about 5 of them for presents.
