My experience with cordless dremmels is that they often go weak in power after a little bit of usage. Maybe that's not everybody else's. Not trying to thread crap but am interested in others' experiences. Maybe I just had a couple bad cordless dremmels. If this one indeed stays strong for quite a while, then sounds like it could be a good deal! :)

i've been wanting a dremel tool, and i want a cordless one too. i've been eyeing the 10.8v with the lithium ion feature, but what is dremlite? could we PM this price at lowe's and use the 10% coupon (by signing up on their site).

this is dremlite. it's ~ $12 if bought separately.

pricematch and use the 10% coupon? yes you can... if your local lowes has it. ones around me (north/south ca) don't seem to carry the 9.6V, only the new 10.8V for $69... and i haven't seen a deal on the that model.

i agree...i have a cordless "Dremel" brand, as well as a Black and Decker, however, i never use EITHER of them since they seem to die right when you need it most. Corded only for me :)

do either of you have the higher voltage cordless models i.e. the 7.2V+? i actually found similar complaints made by other people but it would all depend on the model owned. it seemed to me that the 9.6V or higher models addressed the power and battery life issue (at least some) -- those ones got good reviews on amazon, granted there were only a few.

still, i have no experience with any, and posted hoping for some valuable feedback... even if it means bursting my bubble... i can always get a refund. i'm a little surprised not many have shown interest... it's ~ $69 everywhere else you know, and if you find it for less, chances are, you'll need to pay shipping.

I don't remember what the voltage was on the ones I've used but I'd be willing to guess that they were decently high (they sure were heavy for dremmels). I just bought a corded Craftsman a month or so ago for about $60 (some sort of sale). It was the second-most-powerful one they had and even came with one of those spinny-powered lights! :)
