Dreamweaver 4...

WOW.

i was/am a staunch notepad advocate, but today my manager wanted me to make a webpage for him... he was like i think we have dreamweaver installed, i dunno if you use it much, but you're welcome to use that" so i launched it just to humor him....

the last version of dreamweaver i had used was 1.0 or something. man has it come a long way! whoo! this is my favorite wysiwyg editor now... over frontpage 2000 that is i love how you more or less have full control over the code.... this is usually my main gripe.

what do you guys think about dreamweaver4?

You have missed alot since version 1.0 and since you are using frontpage then you have missed waaaay more than you can imagine

been using it since v1. it has come a long way, but even back then it was already a robust app. i agree, it leaves full control of the code in your hands, which is probably my favorite feature. try the css functionality. it's very strong. also, if you want to stick with dreamweaver and also have full asp/jsp functionality, try dreamweaver ultradev.

Used DW 4.0 all summer to make web pages for my old HS, I absolutely loved it. The best WYSIWYG editor I have seen. (I've used FP 2000, and Adobe's editor as well as DW)

Another vote for Dreamweaver. It gives me just enough help so even I dummy can create cool Webages.
If you have a fast connection to the net check my daughter page. Which was made using dreamweaver and then burned on a CD. That's why bandwith (Especialy on the Video Page) didn't play much of a part. But with cable or DSL you should be doing well:

front page is crapola. dreamweaver is probably the best wysiwyg editor and it's pretty clean code also for that kind of program. i'd still rather write the code myself; it's quicker and cleaner for me but i always recommend dreamweaver to people i know that want to make a site but can't write code.

edit: btw, homesite is a great proggy too. you should check that out if you get the chance.

yes! as much as i derive pride from knowing that i coded it 100% by hand, i must admit, it is so NICE not to have to do all the indentation yourself, and keep the nested table structure all in my mind like one big giant map.

hehe, yea i just installed it. i don't have time to test it out right now though.... this is actually one of my only gripes about it though... where's the php mysql support? grrr.
