Does anyone else have crazy, fucked up dreams?
Last night I dreamed that myself and 3 others conspired together to murder a man for reasons unknown. Anyway on the night of the crime my friend and I realize that we cannot go through with the murder plot and instead work to betray the other 2 before the murder takes place. Unfortunately our planned betrayal arrives too late to stop the killing but we are able to subdue and detain our would-be partners in crime and have the two arrested by law enforcement. The police in this reality act as judge, jury and executioner and sentence the two prisoners to eternity in a hellish prison where they are decapitated and their heads placed in artificial life support to keep the brain alive and trap the mind in a never-ending hell. Having their sentence carried out, the two end up in an insane asylum. Meanwhile my friend and I, wracked with the guilt of betrayal and the horrific punishment carried out on our two partners as well as the guilt of having failed to prevent the murder, are eventually driven insane as well and end up in the same insane asylum as the disembodied heads of our co-conspirators. Eventually scientists at the insane asylum develop artificial bodies for the disembodied heads and just before they are able to communicate the full story of what happened that night and reveal our connections to the murder, we preempt the reveal and confess our part in the crime invoking a catharsis that brings us out of our insanity. But now that the full story is out the potential consequence of having the same judgment carried out on my friend and I is imminent. The dream ends but I am left with the impression that the two of us have also become disembodied heads on artificial life support, trapped in an endless hell with just our torturous thoughts for companionship.
