Dreamhost -- how long does it take for your site to come up?

How long does your site take to come up when you add a new domain/hosting to your Dreamhost.com account?

I signed up for that $9.95 a year deal and I added a domain about two days ago and it still hasn't propogated. However, they're having issues with their ns1 and ns2 are down I believe. Anyway, how long on the average does it take to come up?

With my other hosting company I can add a package and domain and have it up within twelve hours max.

I signed up last year during the $9.24/yr special and my site was online within 2 hours.

I just signed up with dreamhost, and they make me a little nervous. I ssh'd into my account and counted 53 other users on the box. I asked technical support what the MaxClients directive was set to in their httpd.conf and they said 250. 250 connections for 53 users is very low and likely means that I won't be able to come near the guaranteed 1tb of monthly transfer.

It's $9.95 for hosting and I believe a free domain name. It's really an insane deal. Check around the Hot Deals forum.

It comes and goes.

It's a good deal if you have a simple personal website, but for anything more than that they'd have to pay me to use them.

DH's control panel sucks so much that I never ended up using the account, I just let it expire.

I'd rather use Plesk or Ensim

I got in on the HOT DEAL as well. Dreamhost is horrible. Slow as crap and I really don't like , no matter if it is free. I don't even like giving out my web address because it is almost like it doesn't exist. Most people close out of the internet before they even check out the site. The home page is only 3 lines done in Notepad that links to the rest of the site.

What a downer.
