Throwing away a DC? This must be the kind of "friend" who also throws away full bottles of beer and spare change! Take the DC and never speak to him again 😉

And pass up the couch and refrigerator he throws out? No way!!

Yoda291, on a serious note, if its the kind of stuff youre into, read about it on the net until you understand most of it, then tear it to shreds and rebuild it, adding whatever changes you like. Someone named it "hardware hacking" or "reverse engineering". For me it takes away from the experience unless I call it "breaking sh!t and making robots"

well, I don't really want a big time consuming project with it now. I'm already well into "How to install webserver inside lightbulb". Results have been poor thus far, but I am resolute!

it makes for a poor snes emulator.

You are in the VAST Minority if you think that. DreamSNES is already the most popular emulator EVER.

What can you do on your Dreamcast? Just about everything.

1. You can play almost any game for any system ever made. SNES, NES, SMS, GB, GBA, Turbograffix16, Playstation and others.
2. You can watch VCD's & DiVX movies. (DiVX is not that good on the dreamcast really)
3. You can play doom & doom 2. You can load your own levels (I have over 1500 on my doom cd)
4. You can play Half Life. Yes, Half life. I have it. It is awesome.
5. You can learn to program the VMU's which are mini game boy's. They are cool too. Only cost $10 new now.
6. There is no coyright protection on Dreamcast Games. *sniff 🙁 *
7. Broadband!
8. They hook up to to LCD's and CRT's
9. the keyboards for them are cheap & good
10. The games aren't too bad either.
