Dreamcast Broadband + only certain games will work??

Modeps

*Please note that the Dreamcast Broadband Adapter does not support all games. Check the software package or manual to determine if a specific game supports the Adapter. (taken off of ebworld.com's broadband adapter info page)

does this mean that chu chu rocket and jet grind radio wont support broadband???
🙁 that dosent make much sense... an internet connection is an internet connection.

The game has to be programmed to look for and use the broadband adapter. So its not all Sega's fault (well, they are late in releasing it), but some of the blame is with the game companies too.

Q3 and some others will use it - Chu Chu is far too old, and Jet Grind only goes online to download new tags anyway, so thats n big deal there.

NFL2k1 is where it will hurt! 🙁

And it will cost more than a new game too - not sure I want to shell out the $$$...

yeah, i guess that makes sense... but i want phantasy star online! 🙂
hehe, blah, im not even sure it'll work with my setup anyways (ethernet setup 2 computer behind 1 that shares the one connection to the net.)

This does not make any sense at all. Teh OS (Win CE) should handle creating and maintainting a TCP/IP address for the applications.

It looks like Sega simply screwed up on their design.

Not all games use windows CE most games are written directly to the hardware(like somic) and dont have the os.

Right now, only Quake 3, Pod, and Unreal Tournament supports the bb adapter so I don't have any reason to get one since I have a PC. PSO will also too.
