Hrm I don't know about that. The article says,"Sega of America today invited the press to a special event on the morning of May 12, at which it will reveal "BIG news you'd NEVER guess." ". The announcement is being made by SOA, not SOE...and it will be done on 5/12, not 4/30. I have my doubts.

If it is the same news, then Sega = teh suck.

If not that, then it may very well be MMORPG of Phantasy Star.
 
BIG NEWS that I would NEVER guess would include.....
Sega buys out XBOX division of Microsoft
Sega buys out Nintendo
Sega bails out Mitsubishi and has them include new game console in each new car.
...The Sega Genisis 2
SOA announces the closing of its doors at E3.
Sega to move all developement to India.

Just a matter of time before it gets leaked out... before the actual announcement.

I highly doubt a DC2 with backwards compatibilty to the original DC games.

Maybe a Shining Force MMORPG?
 
you know. if sega puts out another console i will actually buy games for it. i will not pirate stuff for them. i love sega and all that piracy really crapped out the dreamcast. i will now support sega if they do this. hahahahahaha

1. Microsoft or Nintendo buys Sega.
2. Sega portable or DC2 - I am SOOOOOOO THEREEEEE if this is true!!! 😀
I had a dreamcast, and loved the games on it. It finally broke late last year.
 
AFAIK, Sega has completely shut down it's hardware portion. So I doubt it will be a DC2... but what about the chances that they are going to start making games for the original DC again?

With all the games cross-platforming nowadays, a DC system won't have the same competitive advantage appeal as it did in the old days with its exclusive titles.

Today, the profit is in cross-platforming games.

Sega a great content provider.....it has been proven time and again that hardware console manufacturing is a risky potential money losing prospective.

The money is in the content folks! 😉 Sega has learned this the hard way. There will be no future DC2.....they would be looney to do so.
 
i just bought a used dreamcast 2 weeks ago for 15 dollars at ebgames.
That's the going rate for em at EB, but they seem pretty rare nowadays

I bought a dreamcast from EB a couple months back and it was the best darn thing I did. I play it so much more than my xbox. :heart: dreamcast.

it is not going to be dreamcast 2. sega, as a hardware company, no longer even exists. they only exist in the software department.
