Sega Announces Major Announcement At E3

Though E3 is always home to major announcements from many and varied companies, Sega in particular has something that will apparently knock our socks off on the first day of the show. Sega of America today invited the press to a special event on the morning of May 12, at which it will reveal "BIG news you'd NEVER guess."
Sega has for some time seemed to be one of E3's biggest wild cards, with a dearth of titles on its 2004 release list and a great many development teams with no announced projects on the boards. Sega of America has also recently stated an intention to acquire more third-party-developed titles for publication -- in particular, there have been rumblings that it may be looking to enter the massively-multiplayer online RPG market.

The picture has started filling in over the past few weeks, with the announcement of new Shining Force titles from Amusement Vision, but there's still more left to be unveiled. We'll have an eye out for more news leading into the show.

I HIGHLY doubt it. Although it would be VERy cool if they did. I still love mine and all the hacks you can do with them.

i doubt it... thats too bad... weve had all the sega systems... only to have them lose support one by one... :(

well if they say big announcement, and that we'd never guess it, and that everyone would be expecting DC2 when Sega says we have a big announcement, isn't that like reverse psychology or something.

can anyone explain why the dc stunk it up in terms of popularity? that was an awesome system w/ great games...

Seriously, I hope it is something worth while. Sega has been putting out interesting games with disappointing sales for too long.

No reason really for them to go back into hardware. DC failed miserably no matter how incredible it was.

Maybe a restrucuring of PSO? I've never played it so I don't know if it really was a MMORPG. Wasnt it just play with a few buddies (6 peeps or so), and 1000's of peeps running around?

I bet FFXII had something to do with this :p
