OVERVIEW:
For this position you will be performing a wide variety of software test activities in support of the release of a sequel to one of the hottest first-person shooter games on the market! Your responsibilities will include writing/editing/running test cases, ad hoc testing, bug tracking, creating test matrices, and documenting metrics. This is a mid-senior level position and you will, at times, be acting as the Test Lead, so your solid communication and teaming skills will be essential to your success. If you like video games, you can?t miss out on this awesome opportunity!

YOUR BACKGROUND:
- 3+ years related software test experience
- Solid software test skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of test methodologies and processes
- Experience performing ad hoc testing, and the ability to develop, edit, and run test cases
- Basic project management / leadership abilities

Nice to have (but NOT required):
- Familiarity with computer games and the game development cycle

Dang! All those times my mother told me to go read instead of playing video games, telling me that I'd never get a job wasting my time like that...

I got friends who are game testers for EA... They hate their jobs...

The work is repetitive, hours are long, pay really sucks, and there's no future (little chance for promotion or move on to more interesting jobs)...

yep and in this case all you get to play are FPS games which IMO has plateued and I don't see that changing

I dont think I have been truly impressed by an FPS since Quake 1 unless you count metroid prime as an FPS which I dont
 
Here's a test plan: Shoot this monster with 500 different weapons and at all different angles

I know Software Developer that use to work for Blizzard, he hated his job and he told me their QA hated their job more.


He told me some of their "QA" people were only paid minimum wage. Then agin, this was back when he was working on WarCraft I.
