Dreaded Office Activation

I have a Dell laptop which came with Office XP, that I am selling. I was planning on keeping Office to install on my desktop, but there seems I may have a problem reactivating Office on my desktop since my copy is an OEM. Does anyone know if its possible to call Microsoft and reactivate the product on another computer, which is not the one that the product origanaly came installed on. I tried getting online help from Microsoft, but to no avail due to it being an OEM product.

Any help appreciated.

Erik

OEM Office & Windows is licensed for use only on the machine it was purchased with. I don't see you getting any help from Microsoft or Dell if you try to move it to another machine.

Assuming the CD's are separate and not integrated into the restore kit and you have taken it off the original computer and are only installing it on the other system, you can install it, then choose activate by phone, call the number and explain the situation to them. I have had to do this a few times with Windows Xp OEM and they were very helpful. Haven't tried with Office but seems it would be the same.
