drawing molecules

I need a 2-D application that I can use to draw molecules. I don't need any 3-D rendering. Basically I want something that will create them as such:

C-C, C-OH, etc

But in 2-D, anyone have anything they use? I'm eventually going to need to put them in a paper, so some sort of non-propriety output file would be nice. Or, if the application can integrate into lyx or texnic, that would be even better.

I know of ChemSketch and BkChem, wondering if anyone has any personal inputs. I also know of Chemdraw, but that seems a bit much for what I need.

For drawing ChemDraw is the best option. There are also some webbased drawing options (look at ChemBank), for viewing i like Chimera (http://plato.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimera/).
