I've sent unopened items back to NewEgg without restock penalty. I wonder if this is something new.

Even the small online computer parts website I used to work at had the same policy, 15% for opened product, and no penalty for unopened. I'd be surprised if when you call they don't waive it.

I did shop first. Newegg at the time I bought appeared to offer the best price. Within 2 hours I found it $50 cheaper elsewhere. Newegg refused to honor their Iron Egg guarantee, which is only available after purchase.
