That's huge, Terry has been captain for quite awhile now.

US v. England in the first round first game.

Holy crap, I didn't think Capello would go through with this. England needs Terry if they want a shot at a decent WC result... I'd imagine as it stands, demoting him from captain of the squad is enough of a punishment that the other players on the team can feel like justice was done and still play with him.

It would be absolutely bonkers if something happens and he's cut from the squad, but I just can't see that happening.

I do understand the argument, though... he slept with one of his teammate's woman and that really will affect the trust and comradeship that's needed to be a good captain.

Idiotic...like he has shortage of groupies to plow.

Not relevant to America.

Not true. The USA team is definitely one I am going to watch closely. They have come a long way. And it just so happens USA is in the same group as England.

And what other popular sports aren't about that?

Many of this forum's users aren't American.

But his reply specifically stated "America", thus your reply was not needed.

Anyways, soccer is quite boring to watch 90%+ of the time. I may watch the World Cup Final and that is about it. US Soccer team outright choked to Brazil last year thus killing a large part of what could have been for ratings here in the USA. All I heard was ESPN kiss team USA's butt afterwards about how they did so well, forget that crap, they choked and choked really bad.

USA may make it out of the initial round and beyond that they have a 99.99% chance to do absolutely nothing.

He lost being Captain because he had an affair and the woman is not bad looking. Best of luck to him and his wife.

I was responding to his post in the context of his first post in this thread:Non-Americans are free to post here too.

Honestly though, do you think any hardcore soccer country in the world will lose sleep over England stripping their captain of his title because of controversy? This shows a little instability, not much but a little. It also gives opposing teams crap to talk about on the field.
