Looks like a good cast too

Michael Rosenbaum - Tanis Half-elven
Kiefer Sutherland - Raistlin
Lucy Lawless - Goldmoon
Fred Tatasciore - Flint
Michelle Trachtenberg - Tika

others . . .

This looks to be pretty cool, I enjoyed the book. Rosenbaum, Sutherland, and Lawless are all very talented actors.

Edit - Title fixed. I can't type today.

Jack Bauer. ;) And yeah, I can see him doing the raspy evil voice rather well. I forget what movies he's done in the past where he's played a villain character, but he does it quite well.

Kiefer was the voice in Phone Booth. He did a good job with that, he sounded sufficiently evil.

Raistlin destroyed the entire world of Krynn, including the gods, didn't he?

I think they got out of that with a little fancy time travel. He destroyed the world, but then his brother went back in time to keep him from doing it.

A strait to DVD animated film; the director's last two films were Ultimate Avengers 2: Rise of the Panther (as Director) and G.I. Joe: Valor vs. Venom (as Producer). Ya, I have high hopes for this.

The Dragonlance series is great, although I am bit skeptical as to how well it will translate into a movie.

I too have high hopes for the movie, although I shudder to think what they've eliminated or altered to make it fit into a 1.8 - 2.5 hour movie. I've been anticipating it since it was first announced then canned when WOTC bought TSR.

The movie will bring DL full circle for me since I played the RPG, played the early and later versions of the computer games, and read the novels.

IF they made a real life movie of DragonLance who do you think would make a good Raistlin?

Oh, and Thakisis too for that matter. :)

Your precious Jack Bauer is actually a vampire, as you should know from "The Lost Boys" ("How are your maggots? You're eating maggots, Micheal.")

Edit: Better that it be animated than have terrible special effects and poor acting. Then again, with this cast I think live action would work as long as they didn't screw up the effects. Also I hope the success of this leads to studio support for a good forgotten realms movie later. Something with either Elminster or Drizzt, with direct involvement by Greenwood or Salvatore, though there aren't many actors who could pull off a Drizzt or an Artemis Entreri. Orlando Bloom comes to mind, but the swordplay would be far more demanding than his previous roles.
