I'm not going but would really like to one of these years.

Kind of hard to go to something like that with a 14 month old kid though.

Hopefully next year the misses and I can dress him up and drag his ass long with us :p

Watch some show in PBS about it last weekend and really does look like a Mardi Gras for nerds/dorks, which sounds great to me.

Some of the alt-history stuff looks fun.

I've always wanted to, but never think about it in time.

wonder when tickets go on sale... I should totally do it next year (though going by myself would probably make me a dork among dorks)

I want to bad and considering its about a 30min drive there is no reason I shouldn't.

Now to convince the misses.

I'm about 45mins out myself but my wife want's to go just as bad as I do.

More the kid being the reason we can't do it this year.

Dragon con is awesome;

There was a fat lady hogging a table at the food-court in the mall last time I went; she was 'holding it' for her family while they went and god food.

I sat down at 'her' and started eating with my wife; she yelled and shut down all the conversation in the food court, we just kept eating and we were done before she showed up.

If you go make sure you play some werewolf and don't miss the buffy horror picture show.

Gencon: also awesome, if you are a board-game type; It had a much better dealer's room.

OH my GOD gen con was awesome last time I went (2 years ago): I did a Cathulu larp in which i was blind folded, a True Dungeon, a fun starwars larp, the model UN type larp was eye opening; The ars Magica was done by a great DM, I actually enjoyed playing changeling and I played vampire with with a white-wolf writer.

I also picked up the Carcassonne big-box, dominion and just missed out on the battle-star expansion (took a right instead of a left when the doors opened) I offered people $20 to take their spot in line and no-one took it.

The only down side is that I missed my little baby, who I left with the grand parents (a MUST for going to a con). I went to gen-con another year without my wife.. it was awful.
