I built a nice system, picked up a AMD XP 1700 and through a Dragon Orb 3 on it, I think the only thing I did wrong was the last part. After receiving it from back-order, I mounted that 2.5 lb. monster on my, only fitting Soyo Dragon Plus, "which im very pleased with". Started my new contraption up, and thought I was hitting the ignition switch for an F-16. Now, I knew it was going to be loud, but I can hear that high pitch whine from about 75 ft. away. Now honestly I probably would'nt bitch if it was keeping my processor remarkebly cold. But I built a PC for my neighbor with a amd XP 1800, and through a Thermaltake volcano,"$12.00", and his cpu is running at the same temp as mine. If you wanna take a closer look at the specs and some pics check it out at Here you will see it under New or something. :disgust:

Well yes, if you have the A1135 version of the Dragon Orb 3 with the 7000 RPM fan, it's going to be loud as hell. The A1132 version should be a bit quietier, but frankly I fail to see the point of the Dragon Orb 3 in the first place when you can get a (much quieter) Volcano 7 for about the same price.

why dont you just use something normal...ive always wondered why people use 7k rpm fans when they dont work any better for the dba difference
